MeiraGTx
Client: MeiraGTxTimespan: 2021-PresentProject Type: Security, FM Support, Building M&E Services, Handyman ServicesMeiraGTx
MeiraGTx is a clinical-stage gene therapy company focused on developing potentially curative treatments for patients living with serious diseases. MeiraGTx required a service provider who was engaging and managed towards their ethos and standards and were looking for a ‘one stop’ provider who could supply their security requirements, their M&E provisions, covering all their preventative planned maintenance but also the provision of a handyman who could conduct further weekly maintenance tasks on an ad-hoc basic. Along with providing a consultive service as a security expert to their business needs.
SES Group tendered and secured the services of an M&E supplier, creating a partnership in delivering a best-in-class service to the customer with SES Group being the lead supplier and overall manager of all services. This approach shows the ability to adapt and provide tailored services to customers, based on their needs and requirements and ensuring that those services meet every aspect. Understanding the client, their business, and their operational locations, is paramount in offering tailored services.
Innovation has been brought to the contract with the implementation of Clientshare for the governance and transparency of the contract management, with this being included as part of the mobilisation period to ensure all plans and objectives were being met and delivered. Tailored KPI reporting has been employed to install a monthly transparent and monitored recording process which is then applied to the Clientshare engagement platform.
Innovation was further applied with the implementation of MyTag proof of presence for patrols that would see circa 100 points of important location across 3 primary locations, and the installation of the MyTag DOB (Daily Occurrence Book) that brought the information together allowing a central and auditable record of all patrols and occurrences that happen on site.
Following a vigorous tender process, MeiraGTx selected SES Group for their approach, management expertise, and experience of managing corporate levelled contracts that required a tailored service, providing a holistic facilitation of Security, M&E and a consultive partnership.

United Grand Lodge of England
Client: United Grand Lodge of EnglandTimespan: 2023-PresentProject Type: Corporate Security, Concierge, Security OfficersUnited Grand Lodge of England
United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) is the governing body of Freemasonry in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Its Headquarters are at Freemasons’ Hall. Freemasons’ Hall is the principal meeting place for Masonic Lodges in London, and Grand Lodge has been in Great Queen Street since 1775, the present Hall being the third building on the site.
Following a long-standing relationship with UGLE via one of the SES Group Directors, SES Group were invited to tender for the security services in February 2023. UGLE were looking for a provider that understood their values, history and would be able to bring innovation and modernisation to how the security team were operating during the out of hour periods. The tender process was very thorough, with technical questions that would provide UGLE senior directorship with all the details required and show each providers experience and ability to match their requirements and ethos.
SES Group outlined how services are currently provided in static security provisions to an array of premises for clients including White Druce and Brown, Colliers International, MeiraGTx, LCP Properties, Arsenal, Groupe CAT, Toynbee Hall, and mixed services to Network Rail. Network Rail providing journey makers, customer response operatives, property management and a tailored team of specialist response officers. Within this client base, SES Group provides a mixture of roles from Corporate Security/Concierge, Receptionist, Security Officers, Managers and Supervisors and sometimes the provision of K9 operators.
SES Group understand what comes with working in environments with history and media attention and this was evidenced along with showing learning ability via the Academy, the training and general approach by the management team. A personable methodology that delivers on what has been agreed, and a general caring for client and staff. Likewise, understanding the constraints of listed buildings, SES Group were able to recommend and propose systems that would assist in monitoring of the security regime and provide safety audits and tagging that would not have any implications on the fabric of the building.
Following a thorough review from the UGLE General Council, SES Group were awarded a 3-year contract with ability to extend for 2 years. The client advised that following this review, they felt that out of all the tender submissions and meetings, SES Group understood the ethos of UGLE and sensed that what was proposed would be delivered.
On contract award, SES Group worked on a detailed mobilisation plan that commences on contract award. All aspects of the mobilisation plan are applied to the Gantt Chart which forms part of the overall mobilisation process.
Due to the diverse divisions within SES Group and specific expertise of the management team, SES Group can apply a consultative approach, not only to deliver the services advertised, but also to offer advice and expertise where possible. This approach often installs a bespoke and tailored service that goes beyond the original scope of tender.

The Arcadian
Client: The ArcadianTimespan: 2022-PresentProject Type: Security, Customer Service, ConciergeThe Arcadian
Towards the end of 2021, conversations commenced with LCP Properties, the owners, and managers of the Arcadian Centre in Birmingham. This iconic and unique location is home to some 10 restaurants, 7 bars and clubs, coffee shops, 2 hotels, a comedy club, 15 other outlets and circa 90 private residential apartments, some of which are booked via Airbnb.
Since the late 80s, the Arcadian has remained a very active part of Birmingham, sitting between Chinatown, The Gay Village and Iconic Hippodrome ensuring that an eclectic presence is always there.
Discussions of requirements was a mixture of elements, and broken down into two key areas:
- The current service, or lack thereof, being provided to the client and importantly the staff
- What a new company would be able to offer in terms of support, to a unique location that suffers with a varied element of crime with an often hands on approach due to the nature of the location and being home to 4 nightclubs and surrounding clubs and venues that would lead people to passing through or being located on the Arcadian property.
SES Group are a people company, a company that values and understands that its staff are often on the front of delivering our services. What comes with this, is a management team, at all levels, that are driven and advocates of a mentoring/coaching approach to staff to bring the best out and in return deliver a best-in-class service to customers.
During early meetings, the approach being implemented could be seen by the client and this continued, showing learning ability via the academy, the training and general approach by the management team. A personable methodology that delivers on what has been agreed and a general caring for client and staff.
SES Group understood the environment and with that, some of the challenges that would be faced by the teams on site and understanding that staff and the client would require a supportive service but also a consultative one. A company that would openly advise and guide on varied subjects based upon professional experience.
Following a series of meetings and tender process, SES Group were chosen as the preferred supplier to take over the management of the Arcadian Security contract. Due to the challenges faced with the previous supplier, SES Group were awarded a 12-month contract with ability to extend by a further 3 years, and a potential 2 years after.
Part of the agreed service was to look at ways to modernise some duties and look at giving ability to work smarter. This was achieved with the implementation of MyTag, which removed all need of using paper-based books for recording site issues. The electronic DOB records all activity on site and provides a centralised ability to search and link specific information and events. Reducing carbon footprint, but modernising working functions and providing an easier service, specifically where information would be required for Police or Investigation.
The TUPE process was managed by the management team and was delivered without any delays or errors. Every member of the security team was personally seen and spoken with in depth about SES Group, the systems in use, and importantly how they would be supported. This support to each member of the team was installed during the TUPE process and remains in place, with each having personal contact to a member of management above the site-based management.
During the mobilisation, all systems were installed, and staff trained, new and re-branded uniform was measured, ordered, and delivered in the given timeframes. This providing a clean and brand-new look to the team.
SES Group apply a consultive approach, not only to deliver the services advertised, but to also offer advice and expertise where possible. This approach often installs a bespoke and tailored service that often goes beyond the original scope of tender.
