August Reward & Recognition
Our August Reward and Recognition winners are Fahad Butt and Connor Keating. They were recognized for their excellent handling of a situation at Euston Station.
Approximately at 20.30 Fahad and Connor were standing by the east entrance when an IC1 female wearing black clothes came running into the station from Eversholt Street stairs asking for help because she couldn’t breathe, she was having an allergic reaction to peanuts she had eaten thirty minutes prior. She was struggling to talk, and her face was beginning to turn purple.
The lady requested to be taken to hospital and at that point Fahad and Connor informed Alpha 2 that they were dealing with this emergency and that they had to take the lady to UCLH. Connor and Fahad lifted the woman taking one arm each and started walking fast towards UCLH in Euston Road across the taxi rank.
They were unable to obtain a wheelchair because the ones at the station were being used and the colour of her face kept getting more purple. The lady was really struggling to walk and breathe, the lady reached A&E around 20:40.
Their manager then added.
“This was exceptional; they went way above and beyond their duties they acted in a professional and caring way preventing what could have been a serious situation and in a worst-case scenario a fatality. Fahad and Connor recognised the seriousness of the situation and acted quickly and appropriately”.
