United Grand Lodge of England
United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) is the governing body of Freemasonry in England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Its Headquarters are at Freemasons’ Hall. Freemasons’ Hall is the principal meeting place for Masonic Lodges in London, and Grand Lodge has been in Great Queen Street since 1775, the present Hall being the third building on the site.
Following a long-standing relationship with UGLE via one of the SES Group Directors, SES Group were invited to tender for the security services in February 2023. UGLE were looking for a provider that understood their values, history and would be able to bring innovation and modernisation to how the security team were operating during the out of hour periods. The tender process was very thorough, with technical questions that would provide UGLE senior directorship with all the details required and show each providers experience and ability to match their requirements and ethos.
SES Group outlined how services are currently provided in static security provisions to an array of premises for clients including White Druce and Brown, Colliers International, MeiraGTx, LCP Properties, Arsenal, Groupe CAT, Toynbee Hall, and mixed services to Network Rail. Network Rail providing journey makers, customer response operatives, property management and a tailored team of specialist response officers. Within this client base, SES Group provides a mixture of roles from Corporate Security/Concierge, Receptionist, Security Officers, Managers and Supervisors and sometimes the provision of K9 operators.
SES Group understand what comes with working in environments with history and media attention and this was evidenced along with showing learning ability via the Academy, the training and general approach by the management team. A personable methodology that delivers on what has been agreed, and a general caring for client and staff. Likewise, understanding the constraints of listed buildings, SES Group were able to recommend and propose systems that would assist in monitoring of the security regime and provide safety audits and tagging that would not have any implications on the fabric of the building.
Following a thorough review from the UGLE General Council, SES Group were awarded a 3-year contract with ability to extend for 2 years. The client advised that following this review, they felt that out of all the tender submissions and meetings, SES Group understood the ethos of UGLE and sensed that what was proposed would be delivered.
On contract award, SES Group worked on a detailed mobilisation plan that commences on contract award. All aspects of the mobilisation plan are applied to the Gantt Chart which forms part of the overall mobilisation process.
Due to the diverse divisions within SES Group and specific expertise of the management team, SES Group can apply a consultative approach, not only to deliver the services advertised, but also to offer advice and expertise where possible. This approach often installs a bespoke and tailored service that goes beyond the original scope of tender.
