Chinese New Year Birmingham 2018 – Security
The SES Group provided response teams and security services for crowd management for the event.
On Sunday 18th February, the City of Birmingham were out in force to celebrate the Chinese New Year, with 2018 being the ‘Year of the Dog’.
With a crowd of 27,000 in attendance, 42 SES staff were on hand to provide Crowd Management and Response Teams throughout the day.
Set over two stages, there was an action-packed schedule of entertainment, featuring martial arts, songs, karaoke contests, cookery demonstrations and acrobatics.
Thousands came to Birmingham’s Chinatown to watch firecrackers and Lion dances in this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations.
Hurst Street and the roads around The Arcadian and Birmingham Hippodrome were packed with families marking the occasion.
Overall the day went to plan with all SES staff helping with the large numbers of people that circulated to activities on at the time, the client, Hippodrome, commenting on the efficiency of SES.
