IAAF World Athletics Championships
The 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships were the 16th addition of the World Athletics Championships. The Championships were held at the London Stadium between 4-13 August 2017.
The SES Group were contracted to provide security and crowd management both inside the stadium and outside the stadium in the form of traffic management. These World Championships enhanced the SES Groups reputation at the London Stadium and around Stratford.
The 2017 Championships were considered the end of an era for modern day athletics with the retirements of both Usain Bolt and Sir Mo Farah from the racetrack.
Team GB finished 6th in the medal table, with 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal. The USA finished top of the medal table with 10 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals respectfully.
The 17th addition of the Championships will take place in Doha in 2019.
