Thunderstruck by AC/DC!

 

Rock band AC/DC were the first band to perform at the transformed Stadium at the Park on the 4th June 2016.

The concert was part of their European tour; in support of their 2014 release Rock or Bust. The venue sold out fast for this highly anticipated concert, and we had 420 staff on duty to cope with the electric atmosphere and the very excitable and rowdy crowd in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

With the biggest arena floor area in Europe and large crowds, the staff on the night undertook a wide range of jobs including FOS Barrier, backstage, seating blocks, queue management, response teams, crowd management and security.

The concert was very secure due to the nature of the event with access over bridges and the external searching involved. The most challenging part of the evening was managing the crowd flow on lower seating areas and stairways and with communication with other security companies.

This was a great learning experience for us whilst delivering the event and everything ran smoothly as was predicted.
