This afternoon, our head office staff participated in Tea & Talk for World Mental Health Day 2023. An hour was spent, chatting and catching up over a cuppa and cookie before taking part in some light-hearted quizzing and games. Spending some time away from the pressures of working can make all the difference.

The theme for World Mental Health Day 2023 is ‘Mental health is a universal human right.’ This subject emphasises the necessity of assuring that everyone, regardless of age, socioeconomic class, or background should have access to high-quality mental health care and support.

World Mental Health Day, celebrated every October 10th, serves as a global reminder of the vital role mental health plays in our lives. In today’s world, where mental health challenges have become increasingly prevalent, this day holds significant importance. It offers a platform to raise awareness, break down stigmas, and promote understanding surrounding mental health issues. Let’s delve into why this day matters and how we can collectively contribute to a healthier world for all.

Mental health is integral to our overall well-being, akin to physical health. It shapes our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, influencing our ability to cope with stress, build relationships, and lead fulfilling lives. It’s about more than just the absence of mental illness; it encompasses emotional resilience, effective stress management, and the pursuit of happiness.
