RSAS Accreditation

The Railway Safety Accreditation Scheme (RSAS) allows the police to accredit employees of organisations involved in railway safety and security. The accreditation scheme helps the police to tackle low level crime and anti-social behaviour, improve intelligence and maximise public confidence. The RSAS-accredited organisations and employees help the police by: • Exercising limited powers that help to tackle incivilities and anti social behaviour. • Providing a high-visibility presence on the railway, reducing crime and reassuring passengers. • Addressing certain issues immediately, without involving a police officer. E Learning with the SES Academy

In April this year, The SES Group signed up to an E Learning contract with TSN (The Skills Network) which will revolutionise training within the company. This forward thinking initiative is a big step towards bringing elements of training online that do not necessarily need to be taught in the classroom. Adopting this approach will allow applicants to complete their initial training remotely thereby reducing the requirement for them to attend training before they are actually employed by the company. The Marking of Midnight – Welcoming 2016!

The Mayor of London’s spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display takes place on the River Thames, opposite the Houses of Parliament. Its one of the most anticipated events of the NYE celebrations set against the London Skyline. The new courses will ensure that training content remains relevant, with up to date content, but without over burdening the individual or the industry. The courses will allow greater flexibility and online learning. The new training courses have been designed in association with the security industry, and were supported by a public consultation held earlier this year. The sectors to be covered by the new courses are: Door Supervision, Security Guarding, Public Space Surveillance (CCTV), Close Protection, Cash & Valuables in Transit, and Vehicle Immobilisation (in Northern Ireland only).
