BUPA HALF MARATHON

On the 16th October the SES Group were in attendance at one of the largest races in the calendar year.  The SES Group were asked to deploy over 200 staff across Birmingham City Centre to help with the smooth running of the event. In excess of 20,000 runners as well as several thousand supporters and spectators made this a very high profile event to cover. The SES Group’s main roles throughout the event consisted of road closures, start line and finish line stewards as well as security on the infrastructure. The Wireless 2016 Festival

  The Wireless Festival returned to Finsbury Park, London for a lively weekend of pop, dance, urban and R&B music, reinforcing its standing as one of the Londons musical focal points. The event has been going since 2005 and this year ran the complete weekend from the 8 – 10 July and featured The1975, Calvin Harris, KYGO and many more artists. Something Got Me Started!

  Simply Red played at the Chelmsford City Racecourse on July 1st 2016 as part of their 30 year tour. They took to the stage in Essex for the first time ever, kick starting the live Summer Nights music events in 2016. With over 60 million sales worldwide, and one in five British households owning a Simply Red album, the band’s most popular records include Picture Book, Men and Women, A New Flame, Stars, Life and Blue. Summertime Ball 2016

What a concert that was! 20 big names took to the world-famous Capital Summer Time Ball stage on the June 11th 2016 – including Tinie Tempah, Ariana Grande, Little Mix and many others in Wembley Stadium The client was Global Radio who broadcast to over 24 million listeners every week. The SES Group provided a range of services on the day including  front of stage pit barriers operation, backstage, traffic management and dressing rooms. The award winning Isle of Wight Festival is held every year in June and is steeped in history – it is recognised around the world for its amazing line-up, mixing legendary artists with the hottest up and coming acts. Thunderstruck by AC/DC!

  Rock band AC/DC were the first band to perform at the transformed Stadium at the Park on the 4th June 2016. The concert was part of their European tour; in support of their 2014 release Rock or Bust. The venue sold out fast for this highly anticipated concert, and we had 420 staff on duty to cope with the electric atmosphere and the very excitable and rowdy crowd in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The Rolling Stones Exhibitionism

Tour de Yorkshire (Stage 1 finish)

  The SES Group has a vast amount of experience with cycling events over the years. Including the tour of Britain, the road races at the Glasgow Commonwealth games and The Tour de France. Our latest cycle event was the Tour de Yorkshire Stage 1 finish. The Tour de Yorkshire Stage 1 runs from April 29th and covers 185km. It takes the riders from Beverley to Settle and is widely billed as a sprinters’ stage. The Echo Arena in Liverpool was the venue of the Little Mix concerts during March 22, April 14 and April 21 this year for their Get Weird Tour. Little Mix have sold over 7 million records, had two UK No.1 singles and two platinum albums ‘DNA’ and ‘Salute’. St Patricks Day Parade 2016

The SES Group worked with the St Patricks Day Parade through the streets of Birmingham this year, to ensure a fun and safe day was had by all. Birmingham is believed to have the largest Irish population in the UK, as well as Britain’s only Irish Quarter, which is centred on Digbeth. This is the world’s third largest parade behind Dublin and New York and was particularly special this year as the parade marked 100 years since Ireland’s independence.
